about

Jayl's political protest against the evil Khmer Rouge, inspired by the terrible and tragic events that occurred in Cambodia in the 1970's. Like many people at the time, Jayl was outraged that even though they had been toppled from power in 1979, the UN continued to nominally recognize the Khmer Rouge as the rightful government of Cambodia into the 1980's; and so he composed these lyrics, which led to this powerful, 'in your face' song, with a style all of its own. The genre could be described as an early form of PURISM. Created a real local buzz as something fresh and original, especially after it was Broadcast on BBC Radio Kent in 1986.
